Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care throughout the night to ensure safety and comfort
- Administer medications accurately and document all actions clearly in the medical record
- Assess patients using the nursing process and update individualized care plans with sound clinical judgment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate timely care and smooth patient transitions
- Respond swiftly to changes in patient condition using critical thinking and escalate when needed
- Maintain accurate records, complete thorough shift handoffs, and support continuity of care
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, families, and staff to support patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license valid in Wisconsin or a valid compact license where applicable
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Flu vaccination required per facility policy
- Proven experience with medication administration and applying the nursing process
- Comfortable working independently on night shift and adapting to facility workflows
- Strong collaboration, dependable critical thinking, and clear verbal and written communication
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid patient assessment and clinical documentation skills
- Proficiency in medication administration and basic IV/pump management
- Comfortable using electronic health record systems and clinical technology
- Ability to prioritize tasks and act decisively in urgent situations
- Team-oriented approach with excellent verbal and written communication
- Dependable clinical judgment during night shift responsibilities
