Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care before, during, and after procedures to ensure excellent patient outcomes
• Perform thorough pre-op assessments and prepare patients using strict aseptic and sterile techniques
• Circulate and assist in the OR for General, Orthopedic, and OB cases, including C-sections
• Monitor patients in PACU, rapidly recognize clinical changes, and intervene to support smooth recoveries
• Respond calmly and effectively to trauma and emergency cases, functioning independently when needed
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver cohesive, patient-centered care
• Document clinical care accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols
• Support colleagues and contribute to a positive, team-first culture that prioritizes patient safety

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license in Utah or a compact state
• ADN or BSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Current BLS certification; ACLS current or able to obtain within 3 months
• Prior perioperative, pre-op, PACU, or circulating experience strongly preferred
• Ability to average 7-9 call days per month and meet a 20-minute hospital response time
• Proven emotional and physical stamina to stay composed in high-stress situations
• Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Comfortable functioning independently during emergency and trauma cases

Education

• ADN or BSN from an accredited school of nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong general nursing foundations and perioperative nursing knowledge
• Excellent aseptic and sterile technique skills and infection control practices
• Solid understanding of patient safety, precautions, and PACU monitoring
• Experience with pre-op assessment, intraoperative circulation, and post-op care
• Familiarity with surgical procedures across General, Orthopedic, and OB specialties, including C-sections
• Effective teamwork, critical thinking, and clear communication under pressure
• Accurate clinical documentation and adherence to hospital safety protocols
