Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care from pre-op through post-op to keep patients safe and comfortable
• Perform thorough patient assessments and promptly escalate critical findings to the surgical team
• Administer medications safely and document all care accurately and clearly
• Coordinate individualized care plans with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the multidisciplinary team
• Respond decisively to urgent needs and participate in call rotations as required
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, and follow-up care with empathy and clarity
• Prioritize patient safety and maintain clear, timely communication within the care team

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license in Colorado or a valid compact state license
• Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience; surgical or acute care experience strongly preferred
• Current CPR certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current PALS or PEARS certification required
• Strong professional communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude
• Comfortable participating in call rotations and flexible scheduling

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative and surgical nursing expertise
• Thorough patient assessment and confident clinical decision-making
• Safe medication administration and accurate documentation practices
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with call rotations, holiday coverage, and flexible scheduling
• Strong clinical judgment and patient-centered communication
