Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular imaging procedures with precision and a patient-first focus
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain cath lab imaging equipment to keep procedures running smoothly
- Prepare patients for procedures, monitor vitals, and respond quickly to clinical changes
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and technologists to deliver coordinated, high-quality cardiac care
- Maintain accurate procedure documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital policies
- Adhere to infection control and radiation safety practices while supporting quality improvement initiatives
- Support a calm, efficient environment during emergencies and critical procedures so teams and patients can perform their best
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Washington State Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification (required)
- Current Washington State X-Ray Technician Registration AND RCIS or CCIS, OR Washington State Radiologic Technologist with ARRT certification (required)
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider ACLS certification (required)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced cath lab and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Professional, patient-centered attitude with strong communication and calm decision-making in emergencies
- Preferred: Associate degree or diploma in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Preferred: Associate degree or diploma in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, catheterization procedures, and interventional techniques
- Proficiency with fluoroscopy and digital imaging systems used in the cath lab
- Familiarity with sterile technique, hemodynamic monitoring, and contrast media handling
- Understanding of radiation safety principles and exposure minimization strategies
- Comfortable using electronic health records and accurately documenting procedures
- Ability to follow ACLS protocols and respond calmly during emergencies
- Equipment troubleshooting and basic preventative maintenance skills
