Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based respiratory care and diagnostics to improve patient outcomes
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment with precision and confidence
• Collect and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) to guide timely clinical decisions
• Provide emergency respiratory support during codes using ACLS, PALS, and NRP
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams on patient-centered plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and safe home care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned, maintained, and ready for clinical use

Qualifications

• Current NBRC-RRT registration (required)
• Current Oregon Respiratory Care License (required)
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS (required)
• Current ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (required)
• Preferred: two years of clinical respiratory care experience
• Comfortable working in both critical care and non-critical care settings
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
• Proficiency in ventilator management and troubleshooting
• Skill in airway management and emergency respiratory interventions
• Ability to perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Comfortable using electronic medical records for accurate documentation
• Excellent patient education and family communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced clinical environments
