Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments prior to procedures
Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field
Perform instrument counts and ensure all supplies are accounted for
Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols
Assist with patient positioning and care during procedures as directed
Communicate clearly with surgeons, nurses, and support staff to ensure smooth case flow
Participate in orientation and training to support high-quality patient care

Qualifications

Experience as a Surgical Technologist or comparable OR experience preferred
Current Surgical Technologist certification (CST) or equivalent preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain
Ability to pass facility credentialing and background checks
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical environment and collaborating with a team

Education

High school diploma or GED required
Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of sterile technique and operating room procedures
Familiarity with surgical instruments, supplies, and sterile processing
Good communication and teamwork skills in the perioperative setting
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and react calmly under pressure
Basic documentation and instrument-counting proficiency
