Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and treatments to patients in a compassionate manner
• Assess and monitor respiratory status, including oxygenation and ventilator settings
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators and airway devices safely and effectively
• Administer prescribed respiratory therapies and aerosolized medications
• Document patient care and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and home strategies
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain best practices

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT or CRT) or eligible to obtain licensure in Missouri
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or supported
• Comfortable with ventilator management and acute respiratory care
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
• Prior acute care hospital experience preferred

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field; Bachelor’s degree a plus
• RRT/CRT credential preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and patient respiratory assessment
• Airway management and oxygen delivery devices
• ABG collection and interpretation
• Aerosolized medication administration and nebulizer therapies
• Familiarity with EMR documentation and clinical protocols
• Strong critical thinking and teamwork abilities
