Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain all cardiopulmonary equipment, including ventilators, oxygen devices, Vapotherm, and PAP devices
• Perform accurate patient assessments and recommend appropriate respiratory therapies based on evaluation and protocols
• Administer inhaled medications and prescribed gases safely and per orders
• Obtain and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) and operate ABG instruments for blood gas analysis
• Perform arterial, capillary, and venous sticks and related testing when required
• Conduct EKGs upon order or request and report findings appropriately
• Document patient assessments, care plans, treatments, procedures, medications, equipment setup, and critical values in the EMR
• Ensure physician orders are accurate in the EMR and that verbal orders are documented per policy
• Serve as a clinical resource—assist with decision-making, treatment planning, and mentoring colleagues
• Follow all facility policies and contribute to a safe, patient-centered environment

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical respiratory therapy experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
• Proven experience with ventilator management and ABG analysis
• Comfortable performing airway procedures and blood draws
• Strong EMR documentation skills and attention to detail

• Not specified (RRT credential required)

• Ventilator management and respiratory device operation (including Vapotherm and PAP)
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpretation
• Patient assessment across the lifespan — birth to geriatric patients
• Inhaled medication administration and gas therapy
• EKG performance and basic cardiac monitoring
• EMR chart review, accurate documentation, and order verification
• Clinical decision-making and protocol-driven therapy
