Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage advanced ventilator support for high-acuity cardiac and neuro patients, including Avea and Drager ventilators
• Provide airway management and tracheostomy care with precision and compassion
• Perform ABGs and analyze results to guide ventilator and oxygen therapy adjustments
• Deliver and titrate noninvasive support (BiPAP, CPAP) and high-flow therapies (HFNC)
• Support ECMO and LVAD patients alongside the interdisciplinary team during high-acuity periods
• Lead bedside respiratory assessments and execute evidence-based interventions
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC and manage medication access via Pyxis
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, PT, RT colleagues, and rapid response teams to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active WA respiratory care license preferred — indicate Active, In Process (include applied date and ETA), or No License on your profile
• CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) required
• BLS required
• Travel experience required — NOTE: first-time travelers are not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory/critical care experience
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced cardiac ICU with ECMO and LVAD patients
• Experience with EPIC documentation and Pyxis medication systems is highly valued
• Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management (including IMV, SIMV) and experience with Avea and Drager ventilators
• Airway management and suctioning (nasal, oral) and tracheostomy care
• Endotracheal tube management and oxygen therapy practices
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), T-piece, and trach collar proficiency
• Noninvasive support skills: BiPAP and CPAP
• Ability to perform and interpret ABGs
• Familiarity with ECMO and LVAD support in the ICU environment
• Experience with EPIC charting and Pyxis medication systems
• Comfort with bronchoscopy assistance and percutaneous trach care
• Patient transport (inter-departmental and ambulance) experience
