Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and ventilator management for adult patients across critical care units
• Assess respiratory status and deliver appropriate interventions including high flow oxygen therapy and aerosol treatments
• Operate and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators and transport vents such as GE R860, Hamilton C1, Newport HT70, and Draeger infant/pediatric vents
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-focused care plans
• Respond to rapid responses and code situations as a skilled respiratory professional
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and equipment use to support recovery

Qualifications

• North Carolina Respiratory License (required)
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist (required)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience
• NRP and ACCS preferred but not required
• Comfort with Cerner EMR and common ventilator platforms used on the unit
• Ability to work rotating schedules including weekends and critical care environments

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• High flow oxygen therapy including Vapotherm and Comfort Flow
• Hands-on experience with GE R860, Draeger infant/pediatric vents, Newport HT70, Hamilton C1
• Proficient documentation in Cerner EMR
• Strong assessment skills for adult critical care patients
• Ability to work collaboratively in high-acuity, fast-paced units
