Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry leads and cardiac rhythms closely to detect changes early
• Perform focused patient assessments and escalate concerns to the care team
• Administer medications safely and document accurately in the chart
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and other nurses to coordinate care
• Provide clear patient and family education about condition, meds, and next steps
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and handoffs for continuity of care
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers while ensuring patient safety

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in California (required)
• Telemetry experience or comfort interpreting cardiac rhythms
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or required depending on assignment
• Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Reliable clinical judgment, strong communication, and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Patient assessment and early recognition of deterioration
• Experience with electronic health records and documentation
• IV therapy and safe medication administration
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
