Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients using age-specific criteria and provide compassionate, evidence-based care
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, then evaluate outcomes and adjust as needed
• Administer and titrate cardiac medications safely and accurately while monitoring patient response
• Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to detect changes early
• Recognize signs and symptoms of stroke (NIHSS) and initiate timely interventions
• Communicate clearly and collaboratively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team
• Teach and guide non-RN staff (LPN/PCT, unit secretaries) to promote safe, coordinated care
• Use clinical judgment and critical thinking to intervene promptly when patient status changes

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license (Nursys verification required)
• Minimum 2+ years of RN experience (Med Surg/Telemetry experience required)
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active NIHSS certification
• Demonstrated competency with telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Proficient with cardiac medication administration and titration (e.g., amiodarone, diltiazem, nitro, heparin, dobutamine, diuretics)
• Experience with MediTech EMR preferred
• Strong critical thinking, attendance reliability, and communication skills
• Willingness to float to units within scope of practice and work every other weekend

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) required to hold RN licensure
