Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality PCU/Stepdown nursing care for medically complex patients
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient status using advanced assessment skills
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and per protocol
• Collaborate closely with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to coordinate care
• Document accurate, timely patient records in Meditech EMR and maintain compliance
• Educate patients and families about conditions, care plans, and discharge needs
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active New Hampshire RN license (Compact allowed) — license verification required
• Current American Heart Association BLS (required)
• Current American Heart Association ACLS (required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, IMCU or Stepdown nursing experience (required)
• PCU/Stepdown checklist current within the past year (required)
• One supervisory signed reference from the past year of employment (required)
• Meditech EMR experience (highly preferred)
• Previous travel nursing experience (highly preferred)
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility (NO LOCALS) and included in submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry and intermediate care monitoring skills
• Proficiency in critical thinking, rapid assessment, and prioritization
• Comfortable with IV medications, titratable drips, and post-op care
• Experience with Meditech EMR or similar electronic charting systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a small-hospital environment
• Ability to follow protocols, accurately document care, and contribute to safety initiatives
