Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
Assess, monitor, and document patient condition and response to interventions
Administer medications, manage ventilators and other life-support equipment per orders
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams for care planning
Educate and support patients' families during high-stress situations with clear communication
Participate in orientation and precept new staff to promote a strong, skilled team

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for California (required)
Clinical experience or strong interest in pediatric intensive care (PICU) preferred
Current BLS and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Strong critical thinking, assessment, and emergency response skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, family-centered care environment

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma/ADN/BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric critical care principles and ventilator management
Familiarity with ICU monitoring equipment and infusion therapy
Proficient clinical documentation and electronic health record use
Excellent communication and family-centered care approach
Ability to prioritize and multitask in high-acuity situations
