Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
Monitor patient status continuously and respond quickly to changes in condition
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other team members to develop and execute care plans
Administer medications, manage IVs and advanced life support devices according to protocols
Educate and communicate clearly with families about patient condition, care plans, and discharge needs
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required or obtained upon hire
Previous PICU or pediatric critical care experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort with advanced pediatric monitoring and interventions
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and PICU protocols
Experience with ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
Skilled in medication administration and IV/central line care
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
