Roles & Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care for outpatient cardiology patients following established standards and practices
Assist providers and clinic staff in coordinating patient care and act as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and providers
Perform and interpret EKGs, monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize arrhythmias and escalate appropriately
Administer and monitor cardiac medications safely and document patient responses
Deliver patient education on cardiac conditions, medications, and follow-up care to support better outcomes
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Collaborate with coordinators, clinical managers/supervisors and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient care

Qualifications

Current MT RN licensure required
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
ACLS required
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
At least 2 years of cardiac nursing experience preferred
Able to pass pre-employment screening: criminal background check, drug screen, and health/immunizations

Education

Graduate of nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient with EKGs and cardiac arrhythmia recognition
Familiarity with cardiac medications and related monitoring
Basic coronary class knowledge and medical terminology
Strong patient care coordination and boarding skills
Comfortable with basic nursing principles, procedures and office skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
