Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care for NVICU patients, monitoring complex physiologic parameters and responding quickly to changes
• Manage invasive lines and procedures in collaboration with the team — central lines, arterial (A) lines, and support intubation procedures
• Deliver ventilator and hemodynamic management for critically ill patients with accuracy and compassion
• Document patient care thoroughly in Meditech EMR and ensure compliance with unit policies
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to create and execute patient-centered care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions and care plans, offering clear explanations in stressful moments
• Participate in unit improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, safety-focused work environment

Qualifications

• Current RN license (active and in good standing) for the state of Texas
• ACLS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (NVICU/ICU experience strongly preferred)
• Comfortable with central line, arterial line (A-line) familiarity and assisting with/monitoring intubations
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Experience or comfort with oncology/neuro patients and EVD care is a plus
• Team player mindset, accountable and compassionate bedside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ICU equipment and standard critical care monitoring
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Ventilator management and basic ventilator troubleshooting
• Proficient documentation and electronic charting in Meditech
• Ability to prioritize in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• Good communication skills for effective handoffs and family interactions
