Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to medical-surgical patients
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Document care clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge needs
• Maintain high standards of safety, infection control, and patient advocacy
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and best practice initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire or compact RN licensure
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous clinical experience on a Med/Surg unit preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and bedside skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to complete required hospital orientation and compliance screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and interventions
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Patient assessment and care planning skills
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage acuity in a busy unit
• Patient and family education techniques and discharge planning
