Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality med/surg care for pediatric patients, putting safety and family-centered care first
Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
Assess patient condition, monitor vitals and escalate changes to the care team when needed
Collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to deliver coordinated care plans
Educate patients and families about care plans, medications and discharge instructions in a clear, supportive way
Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain best practices and unit standards

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or eligibility to obtain WA licensure
Experience or interest in med/surg nursing with pediatric patients
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) a plus
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team
Comfortable with clinical documentation in an electronic medical record

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred or equivalent clinical experience

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric nursing principles and med/surg assessment
Medication administration and intravenous therapy fundamentals
Patient and family education best practices
Accurate clinical documentation and charting
Team collaboration, time management and prioritization under pressure
