Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to Med/Surg and pediatric patients
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Administer medications and therapies safely and document per policy
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and transitions
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and aftercare
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the chart
• Participate actively in orientation, unit-based training, and quality improvement efforts
• Advocate for patient safety and contribute to a positive patient experience

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in Massachusetts (or compact RN where applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS preferred
• Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical nursing and pediatric care preferred
• Comfortable with medication administration, IV therapy, and pediatric assessments
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Willingness to participate in and complete orientation

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but ADN considered with relevant experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric assessment and age-appropriate communication skills
• Solid medical-surgical nursing judgment and clinical prioritization
• Competence with medication administration and IV management
• Accurate electronic medical record documentation practices
• Collaborative teamwork and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Infection control, patient safety, and quality improvement mindset
