Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg and pediatric patients
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status, communicating changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to policies and orders
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Participate actively in orientation and ongoing training to maintain clinical excellence
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Pediatric certification (PALS) or Med/Surg certification preferred
• Previous experience or comfort working with Med/Surg and pediatric populations
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg nursing principles and pediatric care basics
• Patient assessment, vital signs, and clinical monitoring
• Safe medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Effective patient and family education techniques
• Team collaboration, time management, and clinical prioritization
