Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the Medical-Surgical unit with clinical confidence
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized care plans that make a measurable difference
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, efficient patient care
Monitor patient status, recognize changes quickly, and escalate concerns appropriately
Administer medications and treatments accurately while documenting thoroughly
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures and discharge plans to support recovery

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for Louisiana
Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg) — your core skill set for this role
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications are a plus
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to safely manage 12-hour shift responsibilities and provide dependable coverage

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing practices, assessment and documentation
Skillful medication administration and IV therapy competence
Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate charting
Excellent prioritization, critical thinking and patient advocacy skills
Team-oriented attitude with adaptability to changing patient needs
