Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to Med/Surg patients
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs closely
- Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Respond to changes in patient condition and assist in urgent situations
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Experience working on Med/Surg units (demonstrated competency preferred)
- Comfort and ability to work 12.5-hour shifts as required by the unit
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
- Proficiency with medication administration and safety practices
- Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
- Ability to prioritize care and manage multiple patients
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient/family education and team collaboration
