Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions using age-specific criteria and sound clinical judgment
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualized care plans for assigned patients
• Provide hands-on patient care and timely clinical interventions on the Med-Surg/Telemetry unit
• Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Document care accurately and thoroughly in MediTech
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCTs and unit secretaries to coordinate excellent patient care
• Teach and support non-RN staff through coaching and on-shift education
• Float to units within your scope and skill set to meet patient needs

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license (Nursys verification required; compact accepted if active)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
• Comfortable floating to all units within your skill level
• Experience with MediTech or similar EMR preferred
• Willingness to work nights, every other weekend and to accept OT/holiday/callback shifts as needed
• Work history and a skills checklist current to within 1 year required for submission

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Care planning, implementation and evaluation across the lifespan
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Teaching and mentorship skills for non-RN staff
• Familiarity with MediTech EMR workflows
