Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered labor and delivery care following AWHONN standards
• Deliver one-on-one care in active labor and manage low- and high-risk labor patients
• Scrub and circulate for cesarean sections and assist with postpartum procedures (PP D&C, recovery)
• Perform fetal monitoring and non-stress tests (C-EFM / NST) and interpret telemetry as needed
• Provide newborn care and support mother/baby transitions on postpartum units
• Chart accurately and efficiently in Epic to maintain clear patient records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy and social work
• Precept and mentor colleagues when needed to promote best practices and staff development

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience (Labor & Delivery experience required/preferred)
• AWHONN Advanced certification required prior to submission — C-EFM accepted in lieu of Advanced AWHONN
• Current ACLS, BLS (BCLS), and NRP certifications
• Experience or competence to scrub and circulate for C-sections
• Comfort and experience floating to Mother/Baby/Postpartum units
• Epic charting experience preferred (Epic hardstop noted)
• Preceptor experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of AWHONN standards and fetal monitoring best practices
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record workflows
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Newborn care and Baby-Friendly practices
• Ability to set up delivery table and perform non-stress tests
• Calm, effective emergency care skills for obstetric situations
• Excellent interdisciplinary communication and teamwork
