Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients during overnight shifts
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, hemodynamics, and ventilator settings to guide care
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team for coordinated care plans
• Perform thorough assessments and document patient status and changes in the electronic chart
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including rapid response and code situations
• Educate patients and families with clear, empathetic communication during high-stress times

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or eligible to obtain
• Previous ICU experience highly preferred
• Current BLS certification required, ACLS preferred or required by facility
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills in high-acuity environments
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on night shifts and communicate effectively with team members

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of critical care nursing principles and ICU monitoring
• Skill with ventilator management basics and titration in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Competence with infusion pumps, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficiency in electronic health record documentation and handoff communication
• Calm decision-making in emergency and high-pressure situations
