Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 3x12 schedule, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, includes some weekends (posting lists Full Time, Nights)

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, high-quality direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department, triaging rapidly and accurately.
Assess patients’ physical and psychosocial needs, prioritize care, and communicate changes in status to ER physicians and mid-level providers.
Respond quickly and effectively to changes in condition and patient response to treatment, including emergency interventions.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — give direction to ED techs and registration staff while receiving guidance from ED leadership.
Document assessments, treatments, and patient progress clearly and promptly, supporting smooth patient flow through the ED.
Support a culture of compassion and teamwork while helping maintain excellent nurse-to-patient ratios and personalized patient care.

Qualifications

Current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Degree from an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred.
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians, mid-level providers, and allied health staff.
Willingness to pass pre-employment screenings (background, drug screen, health/immunizations).

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program (required)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency Department nursing principles and triage best practices.
Rapid patient assessment and IV therapy competence.
Experience with emergency response and directing ED support staff.
Familiarity with manual and electronic medical equipment and basic computer skills.
Ability to communicate clearly with physicians, mid-level providers, patients, and families.
Team collaboration and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
