Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and prioritize care for an assigned group of emergency patients with skill and compassion
• Perform rapid triage and ongoing patient assessment to guide timely interventions
• Administer medications and emergency treatments per protocol and physician orders
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with physicians, specialists, and support staff
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain regulatory and safety standards while contributing to a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license (required)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) — new grads welcome
• Current BLS required, ACLS required, PALS required
• TNCC preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and rotating weekends
• Strong critical thinking, triage skills, and ability to stay calm under pressure

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

• Emergency nursing and triage expertise
• Patient assessment and acute care management
• Strong clinical judgment and prioritization
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced settings
• Proficiency with documentation and basic familiarity with EHR systems
• Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to variable patient volumes
