Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and stabilize patients quickly and confidently in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Perform rapid triage, prioritize care and escalate critical situations to the team
• Administer medications, treatments and interventions according to protocols
• Document assessments and care accurately in Meditech to ensure continuity and safety
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and ancillary teams to coordinate timely patient care
• Provide clear patient and family education and compassionate bedside communication
• Participate in unit-based initiatives, quality improvement and safety practices

Qualifications

• Active RN license (no temporary licenses accepted) — must be current and in good standing
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC required
• NIH training/certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with 2+ years of Emergency Department specialty experience
• Comfortable using Meditech; Meditech experience preferred
• Willingness to float as needed and support unit staffing
• Ability to work nights, every-other weekend and participate in call rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing assessment and triage skills
• Experience managing trauma and acute care interventions
• Proficient documentation practices and familiarity with Meditech
• Excellent critical thinking, prioritization and time management
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients and team members
• Ability to function well under pressure and adapt to changing volumes
• Understanding of infection control, patient safety and medication administration protocols
