Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid triage and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using evidence-based practices
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHR
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care
• Act quickly in emergency situations and participate in code response as needed

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Louisiana licensure preferred
• Emergency Department experience preferred; new grads with strong ED clinical training are welcome to apply
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment and handling high-acuity cases
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in emergency assessment and triage
• Skilled in IV starts, medication administration, wound care, and basic procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide calm leadership during codes and crises
• Strong patient education and family communication abilities
