Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care nursing to adult ICU patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Assess and monitor patient status continuously and respond to changes quickly
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Administer medications, manage complex infusions, and oversee advanced monitoring
• Provide clear, timely documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and goals of care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based problem solving

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be eligible to practice in Hawaii
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) highly preferred
• Prior critical care (ICU) experience preferred — demonstrated comfort with ventilators, drips and complex monitoring
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; professionalism and reliability

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and monitoring
• Airway management and ventilator basics
• IV therapy, titratable drips, and infusion management
• Electronic medical record documentation
• Patient/family education and compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing patient needs
