Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care at every patient encounter
• Evaluate, triage and stabilize patients presenting to the ED with a wide range of acute conditions
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to implement timely treatment plans
• Perform and document thorough assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately in the chart
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for changes in condition
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans and follow-up needs
• Contribute to quality improvement and safety initiatives to continuously improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the United States, Hawaii licensure or eligibility preferred
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS and PALS preferred
• Experience in emergency department or acute care settings preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to variable scheduling

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN required, BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency assessment, triage and stabilization techniques
• Proficient clinical documentation and electronic charting
• IV therapy, medication administration and EKG recognition skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families and clinical teams
• Critical thinking, situational awareness and rapid decision making
