Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor medical-surgical patients, recognizing changes in condition and escalating appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following facility policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient-centered care plans
• Document patient care and clinical observations clearly in the electronic medical record
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families about diagnoses and post-discharge care
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (LA license required or eligibility to obtain)
• Minimum clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by unit
• Strong clinical judgment, time management, and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and any required background checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and post-operative care
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and basic wound care
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
