Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Safely transfer and position residents using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and interventions
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive dietary needs and preferences
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident-centered care and safety

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent in the state of Maryland
• Valid basic life support (BLS) preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations and assisting with ADLs
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility immunization and screening requirements
• Dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented with strong communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in safe resident handling and basic mobility assistance
• Knowledge of infection control practices and standard precautions
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and staff
• Good time management and documentation skills
