Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in the Emergency Department
• Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize patient needs during high-acuity moments
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and support staff to coordinate efficient care
• Respond to emergency codes and interventions with confidence and calm
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and follow-up plans
• Maintain clinical competencies and participate in unit-based quality initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license for Louisiana (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous Emergency Department experience preferred; strong critical thinking and triage skills
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and triage abilities for adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Familiarity with ED protocols, trauma response and urgent care interventions
• Skilled medication administration, IV therapy and acute patient monitoring
• Proficient documentation skills; experience with electronic health record systems
• Ability to remain composed under pressure and prioritize multiple critical tasks
