Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient condition with focused Med/Surg and pediatric care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Perform timely documentation in the patient record to support continuity of care
• Provide patient and family education with compassion and clarity
• Respond to changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately
• Support unit workflows during short per diem assignments to maintain quality care

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required
• Medical-Surgical nursing experience; pediatric experience or interest preferred
• Current BLS certification required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to work per diem shifts with a flexible, team-first attitude
• Successful completion of orientation and any required facility onboarding
• Compliance with facility background checks and immunization requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and pediatric basics
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Familiarity with medication administration and IV therapy
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and staff
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to prioritize and manage time during short, focused shifts
