Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up sterile instruments, supplies and equipment for surgical procedures
• Maintain the sterile field and anticipate surgeon needs during operations
• Ensure proper sterilization, handling and inventory of surgical instruments
• Assist the surgical team with patient positioning and safety procedures
• Perform counts and document surgical supplies accurately before and after cases
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons and anesthesia providers to deliver excellent patient care
• Participate in orientation and training to stay current with facility protocols

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or completion of an accredited surgical technology program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Prior experience in an operating room setting is a plus
• Strong understanding of sterile techniques and OR instrumentation
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to perform under pressure
• Ability to pass facility background checks and required screenings

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies and sterilization processes
• Proven skills in maintaining sterile technique and OR safety
• Familiarity with surgical procedures and OR workflow
• Good communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to anticipate needs and respond quickly during procedures
