Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to emergency department patients
• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize care for patients with urgent and emergent needs
• Administer medications, treatments and monitor patient responses accurately and safely
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and ancillary staff to develop and execute care plans
• Document assessments, interventions and patient status clearly and timely in the medical record
• Advocate for patients and families, providing education and emotional support during stressful moments
• Maintain readiness for critical interventions and participate in emergency response as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to hold or obtain licensure in Hawaii
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience in Emergency Department/ED or similar acute care settings preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency nursing best practices
• Patient assessment and rapid decision-making in high-acuity environments
• Familiarity with ED equipment and emergency protocols
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Ability to document accurately in electronic medical records
• Calm, organized approach under pressure and strong interpersonal skills
