Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment to ensure safe, efficient patient care for cardiovascular, electrophysiology, and interventional neurology procedures
• Assess and monitor patients pre- and post-procedure, communicating abnormal findings promptly to the physician or NP
• Circulate and assist during diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, device implantations, ablations, structural heart procedures (TAVR, LAAO), EVAR and neuro-interventional cases
• Administer procedural sedation and manage patient hemodynamics according to unit and hospital policy
• Document real-time care and procedural details accurately in MacLab/CardioLab and the electronic charting system
• Maintain patient safety, privacy, and a therapeutic environment while participating in time-out/full stop processes
• Actively support orientation and preceptorship of new staff and pursue ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Preferred ICU, CVICU, IMC or Cath Lab experience; Cath Lab/Cardiovascular/EP lab experience strongly preferred
• New grads and Med/Surg-only nurses are not being considered at this time
• Ability to independently circulate procedures and operate cardiology lab equipment including X-ray fluoroscopy and intra-cardiac ultrasound
• Comfort with varied hours, on-call responsibilities, and flexible shift lengths

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma accepted if BS obtained within 36 months of hire

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring in pre/post procedural settings
• Procedure room preparation and sterile technique
• Procedure circulation and intra-procedural support
• MacLab/CardioLab documentation and procedure logging
• Hemodynamics and interpretation of cardiac monitoring
• Procedural sedation administration and airway/respiratory monitoring
• Experience with device implantation, ablations, 3D mapping, and intra-cardiac ultrasound (preferred)
