Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and psychological evaluations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans grounded in evidence-based practice
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions focused on psychiatric stabilization and recovery
• Perform risk assessments and crisis intervention to ensure patient and staff safety
• Document clinical findings, treatment plans, and progress notes with clarity and professionalism
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and correctional staff to coordinate care
• Contribute to program development, quality improvement initiatives, and case reviews

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; candidates with equivalent advanced clinical experience considered
• Active and unrestricted license to practice as a Psychologist in California or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience in forensic, correctional, or psychiatric program settings is highly desirable
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and psychotherapy skills
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility clearance requirements
• Excellent written documentation and interdisciplinary communication skills

Education

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; relevant advanced clinical degrees considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in mental health assessment tools and psychological testing
• Expertise in evidence-based therapies such as CBT and trauma-informed approaches
• Skilled at crisis intervention and risk management in psychiatric settings
• Strong clinical documentation and SOAP note skills
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and navigate correctional healthcare dynamics
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse patient populations
