Patient Care Technician
Location: Sacramento, CA
Start Date: 05-15-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Varied schedule — 5-hour shifts (exact start/end times and days to be confirmed with hiring team), PCT
Candidate Pay Rate: $25 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care and direct support to patients
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, mobility)
- Monitor and document vital signs and patient status accurately
- Support nursing staff with procedures and timely communication
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control policies
- Participate in orientation and training to ensure quality patient care
Qualifications
- Current PCT certification or equivalent healthcare certification (CNA preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable assisting with patient mobility and basic clinical tasks
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to complete required orientation and credentialing
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; PCT or CNA certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Vital sign measurement and basic clinical observation
- Infection control practices and patient safety
- Patient assistance with ADLs and mobility support
- Accurate documentation and clear communication with nursing staff
- Empathy, patience, and reliability in fast-paced clinical settings
