Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for nuclear medicine studies with care and clear communication
• Perform high-quality diagnostic nuclear medicine scans according to protocols
• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot imaging equipment and dose calibrators
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and follow strict radiation safety procedures
• Document studies accurately and collaborate with radiologists and physicians on findings
• Keep the work area organized and maintain cleanliness and proper PPE use
• Participate in teaching and instructional activities to support team learning
• Provide compassionate care to patients of all ages and respond to varying clinical needs

Qualifications

• Current Hawai‘i license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (required)
• Current BLS/HCP certification (required)
• One (1) year of nuclear medicine experience preferred (new grads welcome)
• Demonstrated knowledge of nuclear medicine physics, radiopharmaceutical administration, and safety protocols
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a single-tech site
• Comfort with equipment operation and basic troubleshooting (gamma camera, dose calibrator, survey meter, well counter, thyroid uptake probe)

• Patient preparation and compassionate bedside manner across all ages
• Diagnostic nuclear medicine scanning techniques and protocols
• Radiopharmaceutical administration and radiation safety best practices
• Operation of gamma cameras, dose calibrators, survey meters, well counters, and thyroid uptake probes
• Equipment troubleshooting and routine maintenance
• Clear communication with radiologists, physicians, and the care team
• Critical thinking to adapt in an independent-practice environment
• Teaching and instructional skills to support peers and trainees
