Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures, with an emphasis on cardiac studies and myocardial perfusion imaging
• Operate and troubleshoot SPECT/CT and PET/CT systems (GE and Siemens) to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Start and maintain IVs and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
• Conduct pharmacologic and exercise stress testing and monitor EKG acquisition during studies
• Document exams and patient care thoroughly in Epic and PACS, ensuring accurate study records
• Prioritize patient safety and comfort while following facility infection control and radiation safety protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in radiology and cardiology to support timely, patient-centered care
• Maintain equipment readiness and assist with inventory, QA, and protocol adherence

Qualifications

• California state Nuclear Medicine Technology license (required)
• NMTCB certification (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience — cardiac nuclear medicine skills are a hard requirement
• Proven IV insertion skills and EKG acquisition/monitoring experience
• Experience with SPECT/CT and myocardial perfusion imaging
• Epic charting experience preferred
• ARRT certification preferred
• First-time travel technologists are not accepted for this role

Education

• Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program or equivalent (typical/preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures including cardiac imaging, bone, thyroid, renal, and PET studies
• Skilled in SPECT/CT and PET/CT operation and image acquisition
• Proficient with myocardial perfusion protocols, pharmacologic and exercise stress testing
• Strong IV start and radiopharmaceutical administration skills
• EKG acquisition and monitoring during stress testing
• Familiarity with PACS and Epic charting
• Experience with GE and Siemens imaging systems
• Ability to work in an acute care hospital environment with adults and geriatric patients
