Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with compassion and attention to dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report concerns to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Document care and observations clearly in the patient record
• Maintain infection control and safety standards at all times
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support patient goals
• Offer emotional support and respectful communication to residents and families

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification (NH and/or VT as applicable)
• Active CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
• Comfortable working night shifts and providing hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved LNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of basic nursing care and ADLs
• Competency with vital signs and patient observation
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safe patient handling
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nurses
