Location: Silver Spring, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
Support safe mobility: transfer, ambulation, and positioning
Provide compassionate companionship and observe changes in resident condition
Record care and report observations promptly and accurately to nursing staff
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
Help with meal assistance and hydration, honoring dietary needs and preferences
Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care plans

Qualifications

GNA certification (required)
Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
Comfortable working with older adults and those with chronic conditions
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus but not mandatory

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completed GNA training program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of basic resident care and ADLs
Safe transfer and body mechanics knowledge
Basic charting and documentation skills
Infection control and universal precautions
Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience
Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed staff
