Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers to promote independence and reduce fall risk
• Monitor resident condition and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents and families
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• Active, unencumbered state healthcare license or certification as applicable
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including safe resident transfers
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and ADL assistance
• Comfortable with documentation and handoff communication
• Understanding of infection prevention and safety best practices
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
