Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality occupational therapy support under the direction of an OTR to help patients regain independence
• Assist with therapeutic activities and interventions tailored to patients’ functional goals
• Document patient progress, update treatment plans, and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and families to create meaningful, person-centered care plans
• Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and adaptive devices to ensure safe and effective therapy sessions

Qualifications

• Active COTA certification/license in California (required)
• Comfortable working as a travel/contract clinician and able to adapt to new settings
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Professional, reliable, and patient-focused with good clinical judgment

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or equivalent from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment for activities of daily living
• Ability to assess functional abilities and implement evidence-based interventions
• Skilled at documenting care clearly and timely in electronic health records
• Good time management and organizational skills to manage caseloads
• Comfortable educating patients and caregivers in home programs and safety strategies
