Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, grooming, and safe mobility
• Monitor and accurately record vital signs, escalating any changes in patient condition
• Support nursing and mental health staff with daily care, observation, and patient interactions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation to ensure continuity of care
• Ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients and staff in a correctional setting
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and security protocols to protect patients and team members

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in the state of California (required)
• Minimum 1 year of CNA experience within the last 12 months (required)
• Current BLS (AHA) certification preferred
• Ability to pass an extensive background check and clearance process
• Highly reliable with excellent attendance and availability to start within 3 weeks of offer
• Willingness to complete all onboarding/compliance documents within 14 days of acceptance
• Comfortable working in a mental health and correctional healthcare environment and able to maintain a professional demeanor

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care skills and experience with ADLs
• Vital signs monitoring and basic assessment skills
• Accurate documentation and charting practices
• Excellent observation and communication skills
• Familiarity with safety and security protocols in structured environments
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing and mental health teams
