Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and assist the RN in room setup to ensure safe, efficient procedures
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral catheterizations
• Operate x-ray equipment accurately and independently while maintaining radiation safety compliance
• Monitor and document all procedures precisely in the MacLab system
• Demonstrate safe hemostasis techniques and support post-procedure recovery
• Perform procedure room turnover following infection control protocols
• Administer intra-coronary medications per Bayhealth and unit policies when indicated
• Complete the four-month onboarding fellowship including clinical rotations and weekly didactic sessions
• Maintain required certifications and participate in ongoing education to advance skills

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program (required)
• RCIS required if graduate of a Cardiovascular Technology program; ARRT (RT) required if graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program (obtain within employer timelines if not already held)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required (or obtained within the specified employer timeframe)
• Eighteen months experience in diagnostic radiology OR successful completion of an accredited radiologic or cardiovascular technology program plus recommendation letters from program director and clinical site preceptor
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology and two years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience including diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures
• Current state licensure as required

Education

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or Cardiovascular Technology (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient preparation and comfort measures for invasive cardiac procedures
• Sterile technique and infection control best practices
• Radiation safety principles and proficient x-ray equipment operation
• Cardiac catheterization and peripheral vascular procedure workflows
• Accurate monitoring and documentation in MacLab
• Hemostasis techniques and post-procedure care
• Familiarity with electrophysiology and interventional lab procedures (preferred)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, RNs, and the cath lab team
