Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
- Support safe and comfortable transfers and mobility with attention to body mechanics
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the care team
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity and respect
- Document care delivered in a timely, clear manner to support the clinical team
- Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, and family members to coordinate care
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required
- Current CPR/BLS certification required or willingness to obtain promptly
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Comfortable with resident transfers and basic lifting; safe patient handling training preferred
- Strong communication skills and a caring attitude; team players encouraged to apply
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but not required
Education
- Current CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic nursing care and resident assistance
- Knowledge of infection prevention and hand hygiene practices
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and observe/report clinical changes
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
